Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
DialAndCase is a private-first home for your watch collection. Privacy isn't a legal afterthought here — it's the product's core promise: everything you add is private by default, and only what you explicitly make public is ever shown to anyone else.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address, display name, public handle, and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself). If you sign in with Google, we receive your verified email address and Google account identifier — never your Google password.
- Collection data: the watches you add — including purchase prices, private notes, stories, reminders, and photos you upload.
- Optional profile data: avatar photo, bio, social media links, favourite watch.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, request time) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention (e.g. login rate-limiting).
What is public vs. private
- Always private: purchase prices, private notes, hidden watches, your email address. These are never shown on any public page, image, or API.
- Public only if you choose: your showcase page (/u/your-handle), watches with "normal" visibility, and stories you explicitly mark public.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and a short-lived security cookie during Google sign-in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies and no third-party analytics. Your theme preference is stored locally in your browser.
Who processes your data
- DigitalOcean — hosting (servers and database).
- Resend — transactional email delivery (reminders, password resets).
- Google — only if you choose "Sign in with Google".
- YouTube — only if you press play on a video on the Pulse page; the player (youtube-nocookie.com) loads at that moment, not before. Video thumbnails are served from YouTube's image CDN.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.
